About
duckkit.dev is built by qba. I wanted to make a good site for engineers.
The site is a collection of precise, interactive tools for people who run platforms: Kafka sizing, consumer lag planning, API rate limits, latency budgets, and versioning decisions. Everything runs in your browser — no accounts, no paywalls.

Calculation engine & transparency
The calculation engine and on-site implementation are proprietary. Logic is aligned with open technical standards (for example Apache Kafka documentation, IETF RFCs, Semantic Versioning). Each live tool page includes math transparency — LaTeX models, TypeScript reference excerpts, and explicit specification citations — so you can audit the reasoning behind the numbers without treating the site as an open-source redistribution of the full product.
Set NEXT_PUBLIC_GITHUB_URL in deployment to show an optional repository link in the footer and per-tool links to supplementary source files when published. Optional NEXT_PUBLIC_GITHUB_BRANCH (defaults to main) controls the branch in those URLs.
